Schwarzenegger Proclaims Drought, Orders Immediate Action

Following three consecutive years of below-average rainfall and the largest court-ordered water transfer restrictions in state history, the Governor proclaimed a statewide drought and issue an Executive Order directing immediate state action to deal with the crisis.

“This drought is having a devastating impact on our people, our communities, our economy and our environment, making today’s action absolutely necessary,” the Republican governor said in his statement.
