Derecho Slams Mid-Atlantic U.S.

As of Saturday morning, there are 3.8 million folks are now without power as a powerful line of destructive thunderstorms… that started in the Ohio valley…and raced eastward through West Virginia.

This line of storms began Friday morning in Illinois and cleared the Atlantic Seaboard around Midnight.

After the 800 mile long path of destruction, there are 784 reports of wind damage and 2 reports of tornadoes. In addition there have been reports of 2 deaths.

If you don’t know what a Derecho is, it is defined as a long line of storms that produce widespread wind damage, with winds common at 70 to 80 mph.
