A blast from the sun arrived at Earth about 3 pm EDT today, buffeting Earth’s planetary magnetic field and starting a minor geomagnetic storm. Geomagnetic storms can affect power and advanced technology systems.
Today’s space weather event, which could last into tomorrow, is forecast to remain minor to moderate.
There is potential aurora viewing as far south as Maine and Minnesota tonight and Sunday night.
