Severe Thunderstorms and Tornado Outbreak for Northeast

A powerful cold front will meet up with warm and humid air-mass over the northeastern U.S. this afternoon from Maine to the Carolinas. Significant severe thunderstorms are expected.

The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting the development of widespread damaging winds and a few tornadoes over parts of the lower Great Lakes, New England, and Mid-Atlantic states this afternoon into tonight.

The areas most likely to experience this activity include: Western and Central Connecticut, Northern Delaware, Western and Central Massachusetts, Northeastern Maryland, Southwestern New Hampshire, New Jersey, Central and Eastern New York, Eastern Pennsylvania, and Central and Southern Vermont.

Elsewhere the sever storm are also possible from the Northeastern Untied States into the Carolinas.
