Ten Cannots

When I first read this quote, I was thinking this was written recently.
After looking into William J. H. Boetcker, he wrote this in 1916!

Having this read out loud before each and every time ‘Our Congress’ meets just might start to sink in on their minds. However, considering the level of corruption the U.S. Congress and leaders have themselves in…it would do little good.

  • You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
  • You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
  • You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.
  • You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
  • You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
  • You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.
  • You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
  • You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
  • You cannot build character and courage by destroying men’s initiative and independence.
  • And you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.

Think on this Quote

” In the post-Cold War era, the United States needs to promote the development of democracy and human rights, not militarises that view their own citizens as the enemy.”

– U.S. Senator Richard Durbin

Whenever the Legislators Endeavor

“Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they

put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any farther obedience, and are left to the common refuge

which God hath provided for all men against force and violence.”

-John Locke

Thomas Jefferson Declared

Thomas Jefferson, declared, “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them, will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

Did Jefferson have a crystal ball when he spoke these words? Has a private bank taken control over our nation’s money supply?
