Researchers at the University of Minnesota carried out a series of studies which revealed those who counted money before taking part in an experiment where they were subjected to low levels of pain felt less discomfort than those who did not.

Its thought that fondling notes and coins helps ward off pain by boosting feelings of self-worth and self-sufficiency.

The Worlds Oldest bungee Jumper. Mr Mohr Keet, at the tender age of 96, bungee jumped from the Bloukrans Bridge, which is the worlds highest commercial bungee bridge. The Bloukrans Bridge Bungee is run by Face Adrenalin and is located on the Gardern Route, South Africa.

An interesting addition to this is that Mr Keet’s daughter jumped after him – she is only 72 years young.

CHARLOTTE, NC  – Carowinds has changed the landscape for thrill seekers in 2010 with the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster in the Southeast, Intimidator. Inspired by racing legend Dale Earnhardt, the $23 million steel coaster stands 232 feet tall at its highest point with a first drop of 211 feet at a 74-degree angle. Riders race their way around 5,316 feet of track at speeds up to 80 miles per hour!

Adding to the overall ride experience on Intimidator is the use of open-air, stadium-style seating on the trains, which are fashioned to mirror Dale Earnhardt’s 1998 RCR No. 3 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
