Peters bought two Connecticut Lottery tickets at a local 7-Eleven store on Nov. 1 as part of a 20-year tradition he shared with his wife Charlotte. Later that day, the 79-year-old retired hat factory worker passed away.

The box of crackers Debra Rogoff bought from the grocery store had $10,000 in it. Police later heard that a woman had mistakenly returned a box of crackers with her life savings inside to a Whole Foods.

The Rogoffs returned the money, but never heard from the woman, and never received a reward.

They did, however, get a new box of crackers!

A man’s attempt to impress his girlfriend on Friday night backfired, putting him in the hospital with serious burn injuries.
The woman told police that her boyfriend poured gasoline over his arm and set the fuel on fire.

“It obviously didn’t go well. He burned his arm and other parts of his body and was in a state of shock,” said police.
