A naked man spotted along South U.S. 1 told investigators he was in the buff because “he wanted to give people a show,” according to a recently-released Port St. Lucie police report.
A woman driving south apparently wasn’t a fan of the 12:30 p.m. “show” staged in front of the Evergreen condos by 55-year-old Armando Alexander Calvo. She called 911.
An officer noted Calvo was “naked laying in the grass,” though he started to put his shorts on as the officer approached.
“Armando was asked why he was naked and he stated that he wanted to give people a show,” the report states. “He also stated that he wanted to get a sun tan.”
The story of a “runaway” Toyota Prius on a Southern California interstate Monday has since raised a lot of controversy. The driver in question, Jim Sikes, told his story to CNN’s Ted Rowlands. He said he was unable to stop the car as it went over 90 mph and called 911 for help.
iReport car reviewer romanmica has been especially interested in this story. He often shares videos of the many test drives he takes, and his honest opinions on each car and how it handles on CNN iReport, but this time it was a little different. Using an “unscientific test,” romanmica wanted to see how easy it was to stop a runaway Prius (needless to say, don’t try this at home). Check out the video below.
Now that medical marijuana is legal in Michigan, can an employer fire a worker who tests positive for the drug?
WalMart says it can, so it did. “I was terminated because I failed a drug screening,” says former WalMart employee Joseph Casias.
In 2008, Casias was the Associate Of The Year at the WalMart store in Battle Creek, despite suffering from sinus cancer and an inoperable brain tumor.
At his doctor’s recommendation, Casias says he legally uses medical marijuana to ease his pain.
“It helps tremendously,” he says. “I only use it to stop the pain. To make me feel more comfortable and active as a person.”
During his five years at WalMart, Casias says he went to work every day, determined to be the best.
“I gave them everything,” he says. “110 percent every day. Anything they asked me to do I did. More than they asked me to do. 12 to 14 hours a day.”
But last November, Casias sprained his knee at work. Marijuana was detected in his system during the routine drug screening that follows all workplace injuries. Casias showed WalMart managers his state medical marijuana card, but he was fired anyway.
A 37-year-old Salt Lake City woman on Tuesday admitted hitting her husband in the head with a hammer after blindfolding him and promising a “surprise.”
According to court documents, Amy Ricks and her husband, Joel Ricks, were out on a date when she drove him to her mother’s condo…
Saying she had a surprise for him, Ricks blindfolded her husband and led him to the basement, where she spun him around, told him to count to 100 and then began striking him with a hammer, according to court documents.
After suffering several blows, Joel Ricks removed the blindfold and grabbed the hammer, although he was unable to get it away from his wife, who continued trying to hit him.
Amy Teresa Ricks was charged in 3rd District Court with second-degree felony attempted murder for the attack.
She pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, which is also a second-degree felony, but prosecutors have agreed to reduce the conviction to a third-degree felony after Ricks completes probation.
If the genders were reversed this guy would be on every news network with live coverage, along with an instant life sentence. She’ll get 3 years with parole, mark my words.
