We traveled up to Lewis, NY, where Alex Michael is renovating a Cold War-era missile silo. Inactive since the early 60s, this silo was one of twelve designed to strike at Russia in the event of a nuclear war.
Since buying it in the late 90s, Michael has refurbished the Launch Control Center and turned it into a livable home. Work on the silo itself is ongoing, as you’ll see.
